HUG- HÔPITAUX UNIVERSITAIRES DE GENÈVE IS EQUAL-SALARY CERTIFIED

Jan 20, 2022

The EQUAL-SALARY Foundation is pleased to announce that HUG – Hôpitaux universitaires de Genève has obtained the EQUAL-SALARY certification, symbol of excellence in terms of equal pay. After successfully passing the statistical analysis of its salaries, HUG underwent an internal audit entrusted to PwC proving that it applied equal pay for women and men.

“In the health sector, where more than 77%[1] of employees in Switzerland are women, it is essential and urgent to guarantee equal pay. The EQUAL-SALARY certification of the HUG is excellent news for a sector that has been under pressure for many years and particularly since the beginning of the pandemic. This certification bears a very positive message to all the health workers.” commented Noémie Storbeck, co-CEO of the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation.

“We are proud and happy to receive this EQUAL-SALARY certification which demonstrates the HUG’s commitment to equality and inclusion. Being certified is a guarantee for everyone that the HUG applies fair criteria for remuneration. As the largest employer in the Canton, we are also affirming the exemplary nature of public service and the excellence of the HUG.” added Bertrand Levrat, CEO of HUG.
