DATA PROTECTION CHARTER

For candidate organisations applying for EQUAL-SALARY certification

Our commitment to protecting your employees’ personal data

Information shared with the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation, for the purpose of obtaining the certification, is personal and must be protected. As a result, your employees must know where the information is stored, who can access it, and how it is used. By drafting this charter, the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation reiterates its commitment to protecting your employees’ personal data.

  1. EQUAL-SALARY is a not-for-profit foundation which carries out statistical analyses and audits to verify equal pay in candidate organisations applying for the EQUAL-SALARY certification. Your employees’ personal data is not used for any other purpose than the one mentioned above. We do not use your employees’ personal data to advertise or sell services and the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation does not have any commercial activity.
  2. We comply with Swiss and European requirements on the protection of personal data, in particular the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  3. We host your employees’ personal data exclusively in Switzerland. The EQUAL-SALARY platform, which serves as a platform for the exchange of information between candidate organisations and service providers, is hosted in a TIER IV-certified data center, the highest level of security in terms of data centers.
  4. We make all necessary efforts to ensure the security of your employees’ personal data. We are in the process of acquiring ISO27001 and ISO 27701 certifications, which define good practice in terms of information security and data protection. In addition, we perform periodic security tests on our platform with third-party expert companies to ensure that the measures we take are effective.
  5. Your employees’ personal data is pseudonymised on the platform and stored in encrypted form.
  6. Your employees’ personal data is confidential: access to this data is limited to what is strictly necessary according to the “Least Privilege” principles. EQUAL-SALARY’s subcontractors and employees who have access to your data are detailed in the EQUAL-SALARY Confidentiality Centre and are subject to verification.
  7. We are committed to deleting your employees’ personal data no later than two months after the end of the validity of the certificate in force in your company.
  8. You can find more information about our data protection practices, such as our privacy policy, in the EQUAL-SALARY Privacy Centre.
